Improving Outcomes in Cardiogenic Shock:

Through Timely Identification, Optimized Patient Management, and Early Escalation

Cardiogenic shock is a complex syndrome manifesting with distinct phenotypes depending on the severity of the primary cardiac insult and the underlying status. Improving patient outcomes in CGS involves ongoing efforts that include optimizing patient selection, timing of implantation, and integration into shock protocols to improve short- and long-term outcomes.   We are focusing on improving care pathways, education, and multidisciplinary collaboration to enhance survival and reduce complications.  We are dedicated to improving patient outcomes through using Impella technology and advancing hemodynamic support to stabilize patients.  Impella devices allow for acute unloading of the left ventricle, reduction in myocardial oxygen demand, and an increase systemic perfusion.  Through this process Impella aides in restoring end-organ function and enabling myocardial recovery.
